Communcators: is Jonathan one?
A communicated is a person who will communicate with the people around him or her without holding back.On page 63 it clearly says " 'Sodalt ' " Jonathan repeated nodding to show that he understood 'soldier' he said more slowly. On this page Jonathan is clearly trying to talk with the young Hessian soldier and the soldier is cooperating. He wants to get to know the soldier get to know him but languid barrier is to big to break but they are trying. Indeed Jonathan is a friendly person that wants to communicate with people inorder to save his own life.

This was a really well written paragraph. It tells me that Jonathan is courageous enough to try and speak a distant language. I do wonder how Jonathan knew that "soldat" meant "soldier." If I was to guess what soldat meant it'd probably take me a few guesses to find out what it meant. Anyway, you showed TEDDC format, creativity, and nice vocabulary. If I were to grade it, I'd give it a 4+.
I would say Jonathan is a communicator. When he was caught by the hessians,he tried very hard to understand them."He knew he was being told to do something. And he wanted more than anything to do it,but he didn't understand what it was."(pg.60) "Baffle,Jonathan kept studying their faces trying to find some clue to their words." (pg.61)"Jonathan looked more closely at him.He wondered just how old he was.It occurred to him that he might be the same age as his older brother."(pg.63)Jonathan always paid close attention to them when that spoke. He never stopped trying to find what the words of the hessians meant that may tell him whats going to happen to him.Anyway Jamely you wrote this very well and I agree that Jonathan is a communicator.
The paragraph that Jamely wrote is correct. Johnathan is a communicator. He understood the Hessians when they said "Sodalt" which he knew meant soldier. He could make out a few words they said. Perhaps our language isnt so different than theirs.
I believe what Jamely said is true. Jonathan had become a communicator becasue he communicated to Hessians. He hoped it woul dapply to his benefit and well let's see.
Oops! I spelled words wrong. I meant to say because and would.
